State Farm's NowWhat.com for young adults is built on the idea of a surprising insurance-company experience. My copywriter and I concepted unique and unexpected banner campaigns across a variety of targeted sites. I liked this one in particular because it involves two of my favorite topics: Tattoos and rock.
Using PointRoll and Flash, user-initiated contact with any of my hand-illustrated tattoos causes the lightning-bolt to shoot bolts into the fake "Rock God Rigs" ad. (Explosions were a popular topic in this campaign.) Smoke billows into the upper banner, and the NowWhat.com logo appears to tip off users.
